Church Services

There are two Sunday Services at Revesby Uniting: 9.30a.m. and 7.00p.m. (excepting between Christmas and the beginning of February, when only the 9.30a.m. service takes place!)

The Family Service (9.30a.m.) is more family oriented with singing of a variety of contemporary worship songs, some more traditional hymns, prayer and a sermon. The usual format includes a children’s story, told in the first part of the service, before the children move out to "MAD" Sunday activities where they process scripture readings with age-appropriate story telling and craft. (We have 4 age specific MAD Sunday classes.....MAD means Make A Difference)

The Evening Service (7.00p.m.) takes the format of 'Café Church'. It is very relaxed - at present a relatively small group of about 15 people. A time for contemporary music and worship moves into opportunity to experience experimental, non-traditional prayer, significant digital imagery as thought-provoking conversation and discussion starters, with plenty of time to share thoughts on the relevant, topic of the day. Subjects like 'This thing called Love', 'God moments', and 'What is the church?' make for helpful, participative times, listening to those around us as we travel together. Good coffee and supper round off the evening with plenty of time to relax and meet new friends.

Infants can be accommodated in the church foyer where carers, toys and other diversions are usually available. (The sound system also enables parents to hear what is taking place in the main auditorium - and glass doors give visual access also).

People with disabilities are also catered for at Revesby Uniting. A loop system is available for people with compatible hearing aids, and large print bibles or hymn books are available on request. All hymns, prayers and readings are usually projected on a large screen using computerised data projection. The foyer has a disabled toilet and babies' change room and the front of the church is accessible to wheelchairs.

After all services tea, coffee, cordial and biscuits are available in the foyer. People who've been to morning services stay and chat for half an hour or so. (And sometimes for a lot longer!!!)

Traditionally the first Sunday of every month is a communion service but on rare occasions another Sunday may be chosen for celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Communion at Revesby Uniting is open to believers from any Christian tradition. Children partake of communion when their parents consider them ready to do so.
